Frenkie de Jong Rejoins Barcelona Squad as Premier League Giants Cool Transfer Interest

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is on the verge of making his return to Hansi Flick's matchday squad following a spell on the sidelines due to health issues. Having opted for conservative, non-surgical rehabilitation, the 29-year-old Netherlands international has resumed full first-team training.

Despite his return to fitness, De Jong faces an uphill battle for regular game time amidst strong competition in Barcelona's midfield hierarchy. According to TEAMtalk, former suitors Manchester United and Chelsea have cooled their pursuit, placing the Dutchman lower on their list of transfer targets as they explore alternative options to strengthen their central midfield.
