Lothar Matthäus Slams Michael Olise for Red Card in Bayern Munich's Draw with Viking
German football legend Lothar Matthäus has heavily criticized Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise following his red card during the 3-3 Champions League draw against Viking Stavanger. In the 74th minute, the French player lost his temper and threw the ball into the face of opposing captain Zlatko Tripic, costing his team their numerical advantage as the Norwegian side equalized in the 90th minute.
Speaking to Bild, Matthäus stated that such behavior is unacceptable. While acknowledging that opponents try to get under the skin of talented players, the former Germany captain insisted that Olise allowed himself to be provoked, ultimately harming both himself and the team.
