Getafe Kick Off Conference League Campaign with a Draw Against Universitatea Craiova

Getafe began their Conference League league-phase campaign with a 1-1 away draw against Romanian side Universitatea Craiova. José Bordalás’ side, who recently added Dani Carvajal to their squad, struggled to create clear-cut chances for the majority of the match.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the 59th minute through a brilliant long-range strike by Al-Hamlawi. Getafe eventually rescued a point in the 81st minute thanks to a stunning long-distance effort from Nemanja Gudelj, leaving the Spanish side with plenty to work on moving forward in the tournament.
