Rubén Vargas Set for a Fresh Opportunity at Sevilla Following Miguel Sierra's Injury

After a turbulent summer transfer window featuring strong interest from Olympiacos and a lack of playing time—appearing in just one match this season due to fitness issues—Swiss winger Rubén Vargas is facing a major career turning point at Sevilla.

Sevilla have suffered a significant blow with first-choice winger Miguel Sierra sustaining a right shoulder dislocation, requiring surgery that will sideline him for approximately three months. According to *Estadio Deportivo*, Sierra's long-term absence opens the door wide for Vargas to step up, earn more minutes under Luis García Plaza, and potentially cement his role as a key player in the squad.
