Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Suffers ACL Injury and Faces Lengthy Spell on the Sidelines
Paris Saint-Germain's 25-year-old Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has suffered a severe blow early in the 2026–2027 season. After a slow start to the campaign, he was forced off just 60 minutes into the match against Barcelona, and PSG subsequently confirmed that he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days.
This is the most significant injury of Kvaratskhelia's career, leaving a massive void in the European champions' squad alongside Ousmane Dembéle's ongoing absence. As a result, manager Luis Enrique will have to rely on internal options like Mika Godts or tactical shifts involving Désiré Doué and Ferran Torres, while the club's board weighs whether to dip into the January transfer market for reinforcements.
