Xabi Alonso Addresses Florian Wirtz's Liverpool Stint Amid Transfer Speculation

Amid growing criticism and calls from some quarters for Liverpool to cash in on Florian Wirtz next summer, former manager Xabi Alonso has weighed in on the German midfielder's performances. Speaking about his former player, Alonso expressed deep admiration: "I can only talk about the time spent with Flo at Bayer, and without a doubt, one of the main reasons I am here is the time spent with him in Leverkusen. He is a special player, he helped me a lot, I learned a lot from him, and now that he is at Liverpool, I follow him closely. We know that the next step is always interesting, and that it is just around the corner."

While the Spanish tactician avoided fueling direct rumors of a potential future reunion, his high praise for Wirtz highlights a strong mutual bond and leaves the door open for future possibilities.
