Alex Remiro Sets Condition for Real Sociedad Contract Extension Amid Rising Competition

Entering the final stage of his contract with Real Sociedad, 31-year-old goalkeeper Alex Remiro has made it clear that he will only sign a renewal if guaranteed his role as the starting goalkeeper for the coming seasons.

While head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo retains faith in the Navarrese keeper, Remiro's position is coming under increasing pressure. Following a dip in form below expectations this season, academy graduate and backup goalkeeper Unai Marrero has gained significant momentum, turning in heroics during the recent Copa del Rey and pushing hard for a permanent starting place.
