AC Milan Unveil "Generali Stadium" Project and Plan Aggressive January Transfer Window
Milan recently hosted the public presentation of the future San Siro project—a brand-new stadium named the "Generali Stadium" with a capacity of just over 70,000 seats and an estimated cost of 1.2 billion euros, featuring key figures from both Inter and AC Milan. AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale spoke extensively with the press, addressing the club's massive 164 million euro summer spending spree, which included Mario Gila (30m euros), Diego Moreira (50m euros), and club-record signing Goncalo Ramos (74m euros from PSG), despite missing out on the Champions League last season.
With Ruben Amorim's side currently sitting fifth in Serie A and trailing leaders Inter by seven points, Cardinale firmly reiterated his backing for the Portuguese manager. The owner noted that the squad rebuild is roughly a quarter of the way through and will require two more transfer windows to complete, emphasizing the need for squad depth to handle injuries and execute "Amorim Ball." Consequently, Milan plan to remain aggressive during the upcoming winter window to secure their desired targets. Additionally, Olympique Lyon quickly dismissed recent Italian media reports suggesting right-back Zachary Athekame would be recalled early from his loan spell in France.
