Serhou Guirassy Shows New Attitude at Borussia Dortmund as Contract Extension Awaits Spring Talks
Borussia Dortmund's 30-year-old striker Serhou Guirassy has transformed his approach this season, replacing past criticisms regarding motivation and attitude with tremendous work rate and team-first commitment. In his first twelve matches, the standout forward has netted seven goals and provided two assists, making him one of the few players immune to Niko Kovac's rotations. However, securing his long-term future is not currently at the top of the club's agenda.
According to Bild reporter Maximilian Vessling via the Dortmund Insider podcast, while extending Guirassy's contract—which runs until 2028—remains an objective, the priority is first to secure Waldemar Anton (with talks already underway) and Gregor Kobel before the year ends. Discussions with Julian Ryerson and Guirassy will follow, with formal talks expected to begin in the spring.
