Chelsea Target Barcelona Defender Jules Kounde Ahead of January Window

Barcelona's 27-year-old defender Jules Kounde has missed his third consecutive match due to an ankle injury. Although his contract runs until June 2030, the French international has fallen behind Eric Garcia in the pecking order, making him a prime candidate for departure as the Catalan club looks to raise funds for defensive reinforcements in the winter transfer window.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have made Kounde their top priority for January, believing he is an ideal fit for Xabi Alonso's three-man defensive system.
