Al-Ittihad Target RB Leipzig Defender Abdul Kone Ahead of January Window

RB Leipzig's 21-year-old central defender Abdul Kone has emerged as a transfer target for clubs in Saudi Arabia. According to Footmercato.net, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are closely monitoring the player's situation ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window. A product of the Stade de Reims youth academy, Kone joined the German club last January for 21 million euros before being loaned back to the French side for the remainder of the season.

Since arriving in Germany, however, the young defender has struggled to secure regular playing time. This season, Kone has featured in just a single match for RB Leipzig, playing a mere three minutes in a Bundesliga fixture against Elversberg on October 24. This lack of minutes could pave the way for a January departure as Al-Ittihad look to capitalize on his current situation.
